Some brief observations upon returning to Britain
bojo:
- THERE ARE CO-OPERATIVE FOOD STORES EVERYWHERE. Seriously. There are three within spitting distance of my house, and they’re all a bit crap.
Are you kidding? I miss Tesco Metro, Sainsburys Local and the like. You can go in, pick up an (admittedly slightly iffy) sandwich and drink for £3, and go out again, and they’re everywhere.
The only shop that’s everywhere in San Francisco is Walgreens, which is nice if you need four hour photo development, but it’s not so good if you want a quick snack. (Anyway, since when was the equivalent of a 500ml bottle of fizzy pop nearly two bucks?)
Don’t even get me started on Pret.
