Twitter bought Posterous

text 21:46:55

dbreunig:

Posterous Spaces will remain up and running without disruption. We’ll give users ample notice if we make any changes to the service. For users who would like to back up their content or move to another service, we’ll share clear instructions for doing so in the coming weeks.

The paragraph above is from both the Posterous blog post and Twitter’s announcement. It’s not one post quoting the other, but a word-for-word part of each post, which suggests legal or PR authorship.

And when legal or PR is crafting future service disclaimers we can only assume the service is not long for this world.

I can’t say for certain if that’s true, but given the FAQ response about making exports available soon, things don’t necessarily look very good for Posterous users right now.
