I wondered if it was possible to generate a color, not based on the string of the city name, but based on a location, therefore pushing more metadata into it at a glance. Geographically close locations would have varying shades of a similar color.
To do this, I didn’t use the standard RGB space we’re used too. My algorithm uses the HLS (Hue, Lightness, Saturation) color space.
