Well, that didn’t take long. After posting this morning about what, if any, developer tools would come with Google’s new browser, Chrome, all of five minutes with it proved that, yes, it does have some after all.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, they turn out to be very similar to the WebKit Web Inspector, which (as with the Safari 4 beta releases) allows inline editing (as seen in the screenshot above). More confusingly, it’s hidden in the File menu (I assume the document is a file; maybe it’s the Page menu? Anyway…) under Developer > JavaScript console, despite the fact it also includes a DOM inspector.
Anyway, it’s a lot better than nothing (hello! Internet Explorer) and, since it’s based on part of the WebKit project, which is itself written in HTML/CSS, hopefully it’ll prove fairly useful.
