After taking LSD. I lighting up a candle in the middle of the wood and during the 30 secondes of exposure, i make a meditation about the holism of nature surrounding me. Feeling the crystal vibration irradiating from the center of the Gaia mother earth. So in this picture i try to show you the magic, sacred metaphysical quality of the nature and new age bullshiting you.

quote 18:29:00
“ All the surveys use an index. But what is on it? “There’s always proximity to nature,” says Tyler Brûlé (editor of Monocle and patron saint of liveable cities and airport lounges. ”

Edwin Heathcote quoting Tyler Brûlé in the Financial Times piece Liveable v lovable, critiquing those “best cities to live in” lists that never list the cities people actually live in (notably London and New York). It’s doing the rounds, and it’s well worth a read.

This quote leapt out at me, because (as I mentioned in my post about driving), one of the best things about San Francisco is, apparently, that it’s easy to leave. Call me a dyed in the wool urbanophile, but isn’t the point of a good city that you don’t want to?

quote 00:38:09
“ When captured and held e.g. by the tail, [hagfish] secrete the microfibrous slime, which expands into a gelatinous and sticky goo when combined with water; if they remain captured, they can tie themselves in an overhand knot which works its way from the head to the tail of the animal, scraping off the slime as it goes and freeing them from their captor, as well as the slime. ”
Hagfish at Wikipedia. Isn’t nature wonderful?

Wheatfield—A Confrontation by Agnes Denes, from 1982, as seen at Radical Nature at the Barbican. This image is from The Chelsea Art Museum, and it’s worth looking through the others too:

The work is to be restaged in Dalston this summer.
