Trust Zone by Robert Rauschenberg, from the Stoned Moon series of lithographs. Posted by the Haggerty Museum on Flickr.
From Amazon’s description of the book of the series:
In 1969, Robert Rauschenberg was invited by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to witness the launch of the Apollo 11 mission to place man on the moon for the first time. At the end of a decade in which the war in Vietnam and social turmoil in America had left him disillusioned, this scientific and technological marvel gave the artist new hope for the future. That year, in response to the Apollo 11 achievement, and in collaboration with the Gemini GEL print workshop, Rauschenberg created the Stoned Moon series—the title reflecting both the lithographic medium and the moon mission.

[This is good.] Perhaps the grey one should have been blue, since they made that one? A minor niggle, though.

The Satellite Prints: Google Earth collages by Jenny Odell. This one is 125 American Swimming Pools. I love the way Odell takes real world items and takes them completely out of their context, just making them blocks of colour and elements in a different whole.
Oh, that’s nice. Also, turns out the artist is based in San Francisco, and has work scattered around. Something to look out for.

An advert from a campaign to boost magazine sales, as reported on in the Wall Street Journal’s story, Magazines Team Up To Tout ‘Power of Print’ (via John Gruber).
One line that’s picked up a lot of attention is “Magazines are fleeting. The Internet is immersive.” At least that one’s true; I mean, I’ve never put a pile of internet in the recycling bin after a couple of months of it littering the dining room table.
… oh, wait, I got the nouns the wrong way around. Never mind.
